The Łódź Province with the region's capital City of Łódź is situated in the center of Poland and Europe, approximately 10 km away from the intersection of two major A1 and A2 trans-European highways. A convenient access from practically all directions in the country is provided by the following roads: A1 national road (to the north and south) and A2 highway (to the west), while national road number 72 runs towards the east. Moreover, the city and region have well-developed railway network connections with all Poland's larger cities, including a modernized section connecting Łódź and Warsaw, the country's capital city, in 90 minutes travel time.
Łódź City lies in the center of the province. Passenger transport by railway is provided through two major railway stations (Łódź Kaliska
and Łódź Fabryczna) and several smaller ones (Widzew, Żabieniec, Andrzejów, Niciarniana). International and national coach transport is available at coach stations PKS (Central Coach Station and North Coach Station).
One may get to the most famous street in Łódź, i.e. Piotrkowska Street, in no more than 10 minutes walking from the Łódź Fabryczna station and PKS Central Station, which is in its close vicinity.
In the south-western part of the city, 6 km away from its center, there is the Władysław Reymont passenger airport offering regular flight connections with many European cities. Owing to its advantageous location passengers may get in 10 minutes to the city's center (by buses L, 55, 65) as well as to the hotels, railway stations (Łódź Kaliska, Łódź Fabryczna) and to the bus station (Central Coach Station).
City Public transport is based on a dense network of bus (daily and night) and tram lines (daily).
