Cinematography Act
The Cinematography Act provides rules for supporting and protecting filmmaking in the territory of the Republic of Poland. The Polish Film Institute, a state entity assigned with tasks under the governmental policy on cinematography, was established pursuant to this Act. The policy aims at the development of filmmaking art in Poland through production subsidies offered by various Operational Programs and through various film undertakings (see details in the "Financial Support" section).
Furthermore, the Act contains regulations for the protection of the national cultural film heritage by assigning these tasks to the National Film Library and regional film libraries.
