In addition to budget subsidies offered by the City of Łódź, filmmakers may apply for additional funds to be supported by other programs that specialized nationwide or governmental institutions offer for their productions.
POLISH FILM INSTITUTE OPERATIONAL PROGRAMMES
One of the sources of cofinancing filmmaking undertakings in Poland is the institution established under Polish Act of Cinematography, i.e. The Polish Film Institute, which supports filmmaking in many areas through its Operational Programmes. It is worth emphasizing that such support is available to films made by an entity with its registered business in the Republic of Poland. The PISF cofinancing can be obtained for supporting ready film projects as well for film distribution and promotion.

Operational Programme "Film Production"
Allocation in 2010 : 88,000,000 PLN. Applications can be submitted until three dealines: 01 March (II session), 30 June (III session) and 01 December (I session for 2011 r.). Applications for funding project development within frames of Polish - German Co-development Fund are accepted throughout the year. Grants are available for funding films in all stages: development, scriptwriting, production or promotion of the film.
There are four Priorities within the Programme:
Priority I. Auteur's films Priority II. Historical films Priority III. Films for young spectators and family films Priority IV. Films of high frequency potential
Priority I. Auteur's films - here are granted money for ambitious auteur's projects, which touch important topics, not oriented for commercial success, also debut films. It is possible to obtain: grants for scriptwriting, co financing for development of the project or for production of feature, documentary or animated film.
Priority II. Historical films - here are granted money for films, which undertake important historical topics and are of high artistic quality, for films which tell about events crucial for our culture and dealing with historical characters, especially these ones, who earlier were not present in Polish cinematography. It is possible to obtain: grants for scriptwriting, co financing for development of the project or for production of feature, documentary or animated film.
Priority III. Films for young spectators and family films - here are granted money for fairy - tales and fables for children, for films touching problems connected with children and youth in contemporary world, projects of high cognitive and educational values, attractive from formal and technological point of view. It is possible to obtain: grants for scriptwriting (full - length feature or animated film), co financing for development of the project or for production of feature or animated film.
Priority IV. Films of high frequency potential - here are granted money for - as a loan or bail - for films designed for broad audience, belonging to one of specified film genres (comedy, crime story, melodrama, musical, thriller). It is possible to obtain: grants for scriptwriting, co financing for development of the project or for production of feature or full - length animated film.
OPERATIONAL PROGRAMMES OF THE POLISH FILMMAKERS ASSOCIATION
The Polish Filmmakers Association is focused on supporting young filmmakers. The Munk Studio operating under the supervision of this organization offers several projects with their beneficiaries being debuting filmmakers.
"30 minutes"
The program funds are offered to filmmakers producing a half-hour contemporary theme film.
Beneficiaries:
- directors graduating from the film school, before he/she makes a feature film debut, - directing faculty last year student in the film school, before he/she makes a feature film debut, - directors with no film education, before he/she debuts with a feature film but who have made 1 or 2 short films distributed in movie theatres, on DVD or on TV.

"First Documentary"
The program funds are offered to filmmakers making their first professional documentary about the contemporary world with the runtime from 10 to 15 minutes.
Beneficiaries:
- graduates from school films before their debut, directing faculty students, - cameramen, - people with no film education but with filmmaking achievements (amateur films, TV reports).

„Young Animation”
The program funds are offered to filmmakers making approx. 5-minute animated film in any animation technique (including the state-of-the art digital techniques).
Beneficiaries:
- students of or graduates from directing or animation faculties, - students of or graduates from the Academy of Fine Arts with no film education who made at least one school animated film or any other work based on new digital techniques, - students of or graduates from other schools with no film education who made at least one school animated film or any other work based on new digital techniques, - graduates from secondary schools who may document their at least 2-year experience in using digital techniques.
